Women's Nat. Collegiate semifinals

No.1 Maryland (19-1) vs. No. 5 Loyola (16-4)

Site: Lions Stadium, Ewing, N.J.

Time: 6 p.m.

Skinny: The Terps and Greyhounds take their intrastate rivalry to the national stage for the third time in seven years. The nation's most potent attack faces the nation's hottest goalie. Five-time defending champion Maryland, which beat the Greyhounds 12-4 on April 22, averages 15.9 goals a game, and has five players with 60 or more points, including Jen Adams (71 goals, 48 assists) and Allison Comito (57, 25). Greyhounds sophomore keeper Tricia Dabrowski has allowed nine goals in two tournament games. She held No. 4 North Carolina scoreless for more than 37 minutes in the 7-5 quarterfinal win.

No. 2 Princeton (14-3) vs. No. 3 James Madison (13-4)

Site: Lions Stadium, Ewing, N.J.

Time: 8 p.m.

Skinny: Princeton returns to the final four for the first time since 1996 when the Tigers fell to Maryland in the semifinals. Before that, they reached the title game three straight years, winning in 1994. James Madison, however, is in the semifinals for the first time. The two teams did not meet during the regular season although they did scrimmage. The Dukes are led by Jess Marion ( 60, 8) and Julie Martinez (45, 10). The Tigers, who graduated seven starters, have gotten exceptional play from their youngsters especially sophomores Kim Smith (41, 10) and Lauren Simone (41, 9) and Ivy League Rookie of the Year Whitney Miller (19, 10).
