Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Western District

Arrest: After the driver of a 1991 Mazda Protege ran a red light Sunday in the 800 block of N. Carey St., Officers Daniel Stein and Timothy Stach stopped the car in the 900 block and the driver allegedly struck Stach with his hands. The man was arrested. Police said they recovered a .357 Magnum handgun and 29 gel caps of suspected cocaine the man threw to the ground. Anthony Brooks, 29, of the 3600 block of Forest Grove Ave. in Lochearn, Baltimore County, was charged with assault, possession of a handgun and possession of suspected cocaine.

Arrest: During a dispute about garbage Sunday in the 200 block of N. Pulaski St., a man displayed a handgun and threatened another man. Officer Julian Jemmott served a search and seizure warrant on a house in the 2100 block of W. Fairmount Ave., a block and a half away, and recovered a loaded .38-caliber handgun believed to have been used in the incident. Amos L. Richards, 64, was charged with aggravated assault and a handgun violation.

Southern District

Shooting: A man shot another man, 21, in the left leg about 8: 30 p.m. Sunday in the 2900 block of Denham Circle in Cherry Hill. The victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The shooting appeared to be retaliation for an incident five hours earlier in which a male, 17, was shot in the abdomen in the 2700 block of Spelman Road in Cherry Hill. The teen was treated at Shock Trauma. An arrest was made in the Denham Circle incident.

Central District

Theft: A cellular phone, sunglasses and coins, all valued at $425, were stolen Sunday from a 1999 Nissan parked in the 400 block of St. Paul St.

Southeastern District

Stolen vehicle: A 1999 Eddie Bauer edition Ford Explorer with tags M310833 was stolen Sunday from the 4000 block of E. Baltimore St.

Northwestern District

Burglary: A 19-inch television and a 1992 Infiniti G20 sedan with unknown tags were stolen Sunday from John's Auto Repair in the 4100 block of W. Belvedere Ave. Mark Frost, 31, of the 5200 block of Linden Heights Ave., a former employee, was charged in a warrant with burglary.

Southwestern District

Burglary: Gold jewelry valued at $600 was stolen Sunday from a house in the 4700 block of Amberly Road.

Eastern District

Shooting: A man, 28, was in the 1700 block of E. Preston St. about 4 p.m. Sunday when an unknown assailant fired several shots, hitting him in the right leg and grazing his forehead. He was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Burglary: More than $1,000 cash, several compact discs and jewelry, all valued at $1,550, were stolen Sunday from a house in the 1700 block of E. North Ave.

Robbery: A woman, 21, was walking in the 1900 block of N. Broadway about 7 p.m. Sunday when a man stole her purse, which contained $30.

Northern District

Arson: Someone set fire to a 1997 Honda Civic parked in the 2800 block of Rockwood Ave. early Sunday, extensively damaging the car. A man suspected of setting the fire drove off in a Geo Metro with unknown tags.

Baltimore County

Garrison Precinct

Robbery: A gunman entered the Ramada Inn in the 1700 block of Reisterstown Road about 4 a.m. Sunday, prompting the night clerk to flee. The gunman took a cash drawer containing about $300.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: A man, 58, was in the 1600 block of E. Joppa Road about 12: 30 a.m. Sunday when a gunman robbed him of his wallet containing $25, credit cards and personal papers.
