Barbara L. Kirven, human resources director for the United Negro College Fund since 1994, has been named director of human resources for Anne Arundel Community College. Earlier, she worked 13 years at Xerox Corp. A resident of Fort Washington, Kirven holds a bachelor of science degree in psychology and a master of education, both from Howard University. At AACC, she will oversee faculty and staff recruitment, compensation and benefits administration, performance appraisals, job classification, payroll and employee relations.
Sinclair Law Firm has changed its name to SinclairProsser, Attorneys at Law, reflecting the contributions of Colleen Sinclair Prosser to the practice with her father, R. Ronald Sinclair. A graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, Prosser earned her law degree at Catholic University in 1990. She began her legal practice as an associate with a firm in Calverton and worked as commercial counsel for Chicago Title Insurance Co. in Washington before joining Sinclair in 1996. Prosser, who concentrates on estate planning law, is a resident of Edgewater with her husband, artist Les Prosser Jr., and their son, Jake.
