Man charged in shooting of woman in Park Heights

A man suspected in the killing of a woman and wounding of a man at the Five Mile House in Northwest Baltimore last month was arrested yesterday by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Baltimore County Police.

James Bernard Wilder, 24, no address given, was arrested in the 300 block of Sunshine Place in Catonsville on charges that included first-degree murder and attempted murder.

On March 26, Robin Jackson, a 33-year-old mother of three, was shot and killed in a car outside the Park Heights nightclub in the 5300 block of Reisterstown Road. Her acquaintance, Roland Cox, was also shot.

Duo posed as water agents, stole from woman, city says

A man and a woman posing as city water department employees stole jewelry from a Northeast Baltimore woman yesterday, Department of Publics Works officials reported.

The woman, who lives on Loch Raven Boulevard, called the city and police after she noticed jewelry missing. She said she had let in a man and a woman to check her water pressure, and while she was in the basement with the woman, the man was by himself upstairs.

Kurt Kocher, public works spokesman, warned against letting in anyone who says they work for the city public works department.
