Virginia C. Cochran, a homemaker and active club member, died Friday of a cerebral hemorrhage at Union Memorial Hospital. The Homeland resident was 89.
Mrs. Cochran, who played piano, was a lifelong benefactor of the Peabody Conservatory, where she earned a certificate in piano.
Born Virginia Cook, she was raised in Forest Park and graduated from Forest Park High School in 1927. In 1936, she married John A. Cochran, who died in 1968.
She was a longtime member of the Woman's Club of Roland Park and the Baltimore Country Club, where she played golf and bridge.
She is survived by a son, John C. Cochran, and a daughter, Linda C. Gillard, both of San Diego.
