Chase, a 5-foot-9, 175-pound senior, scored a career-high seven goals to help the defending Class 4A-3A state champion Falcons remain unbeaten with a 14-9 victory over rival Annapolis on Friday. Chase was moved from midfield to attack in the second half by coach Mike Bellotte and responded with two of the three goals Severna Park scored in the first minute to take the lead for good, 8-7. Earlier in the week, Chase had two goals and two assists while getting limited playing time in a 21-3 romp over Northeast.
Annapolis, girls lacrosse
Walker, an All-Metro junior midfielder and member of the World Cup champion U.S. under-19 team in the fall, led the Panthers to an 8-7 victory over Severna Park on Friday. She fired in the game-winner off a restart via a foul with two seconds remaining for the two-time defending Class 4A-3A state champions. She finished with three goals despite leg cramps. Walker's second score tied the game at seven with 4: 02 remaining. In a 13-7 triumph over Broadneck on Tuesday, Walker had five assists and one goal.
