Board of Zoning Appeals approves conditional uses
The Board of Zoning Appeals has approved several requests for conditional uses for businesses around the county.
Continental Realty Corp. applied for a conditional use for a furniture store and bank branch in a restricted industrial zone at 1030 Baltimore Boulevard, Westminster. The site includes a 60,000-square-foot building, 40,000 feet of which would be used for the furniture store. The bank would be in another separate building.
Emory N. Stull applied for a conditional use to allow contractor's equipment and storage yard and a variance from 600 feet to 350 feet in the Central Maryland Service and Distribution Center off Klees Mill Road.
He plans to erect an 11,000-square-foot building for his business that includes a business office and maintenance and repair area for equipment. The variance was approved upon finding that the nearest residence is across the street.
June Lee requested a conditional use for an acupuncture clinic at 1040 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, on property zoned for residence. The clinic and private office would be in her residence. The area already includes several professional offices, which are allowed in R-20,000 zones.
Paul and Rebecca Bosley requested a conditional use for parking facilities for commercial vehicles on the west side of Pleasant Valley Road just south of Warehime Road. The 22+ acres are zoned agricultural. The Bosleys own a company that delivers oil for several companies.
Because of the proximity of the nearest residence, the board restricted use to no more than one tractor and three trailers stored on site, no truck trips to or from the parking facility on Sundays, and required that a chain-link fence shall be erected along the property line and trees planted to shield the business from the neighbors.
