No. 2 Mt. St. Joseph 3, St. Paul's 2: Gavin Floyd (4-0) threw a two-hitter and struck out 12. Chris McAndrew tied the game with a two-out single and the Gaels (10-2) scored the winning run on a balk.
No. 4 Arundel 14, South River 4: Arundel (3-2) broke open a close game in the fourth inning with seven runs. Jason Ford capped the rally with a two-run double. Chris Fernandez had two RBIs and Chip Zeigler hit a home run in the third inning. South River dropped to 2-3.
No. 9 Old Mill 11, North County 5: Senior Jimmy Jackson was 2-for-3 with a triple to lead Old Mill (2-3). North County fell to 0-5.
No. 10 Patapsco 8, Woodlawn 2: Jerry Hehring went 3-for-4 with a double to power the Patriots (2-1-1). Patapsco's Joe Eckert and Tim Layte each doubled. Right-hander Danny Blubaugh pitched four innings of three-hit ball to gain the win.
No. 1 Spalding 12, McDonogh 0: Megan Cohen's 4-for-5 game included two doubles and powered the Cavaliers (4-0) past the Eagles (0-3) in the IAMM League. Jessica Saunders (3-0) pitched a complete game and struck out nine batters for the Cavaliers.
No. 2 North County 8, Old Mill 7: The No. 2-ranked Knights (2-2) rallied with five runs in the final two innings to defeat the visiting Patriots (0-4). Caitlin Burns delivered a two-out, game-winning base hit.
River Hill 5, No. 6 Atholton 4: River Hill's Heather Jackson didn't walk a batter and teammate Kelly Smith had two hits, including a home run, sparking the Hawks (3-2) to an upset of Atholton (4-1) in Howard County play.
