Police arrest suspect in rape of disabled woman

Baltimore County police arrested a man yesterday they say sexually assaulted a disabled woman in Towson two weeks ago.

Faruk Ali Ibrahim, 24, of the 9600 block of Orpin Road in Randallstown, is charged with second-degree rape. He was taken into custody without incident at about 10: 30 a.m. at the Ramada Inn on Reisterstown Road after police spotted his car outside the hotel.

Police say Ibrahim was working as a caregiver for a local company on Feb. 16 when he allegedly lifted a woman out of her wheelchair and sexually assaulted her in the 500 block of Virginia Ave. in Towson.

Man dies when pickup hit by another truck

JOPPATOWNE -- Officials are investigating an accident in Joppatowne Friday that killed a 53-year-old man.

Donald Charles Hogan Sr., 53, of the 500 block of Joppa Farm Road, died after his 1995 Dodge Ram pickup was hit by another truck and ran into a light pole on Joppa Farm Road, police said. The other vehicle, a 1996 Ford Ranger, was driven by Raymond D. Holbein, 52, of the 700 block of Shore Drive. Holbein wasn't injured in the accident.

Authorities said Holbein pulled out of Shore Drive onto Joppa Farm Road at about 5 p.m. and hit the left rear of Hogan's vehicle, which was heading north on Joppa Farm. Hogan lost control, veered into the median and slammed into the pole, authorities said.
