Sykes, Lee push Goucher to win; State


Todd Sykes and Darrian Lee scored 23 points apiece as host Goucher defeated Mary Washington, 82-55, last night in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

Sykes and Lee made a combined 18 of 28 field-goal attempts and Goucher (10-10, 5-5) scored 35 points off of 29 Eagles turnovers.

Goucher used a 16-2 first-half run to lead 37-31 at halftime, then a 9-0 spurt early in the second half to extend its lead to 54-38.

Virginia Union 81, Bowie State 64: Three players scored in double figures, led by Eric McNeil's game-high 17 points, but the Bulldogs fell to the Panthers in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association game in Richmond, Va.


Mary Washington 68, Goucher 58: Erin Caulfield had a game-high 23 points to lead the Eagles (11-7, 7-4) over the host Gophers (4-16, 1-10) in a Capital Athletic Conference game. Jessica Young's 22 points led Goucher.

Western Maryland 86, Dickinson 68: Freshman guard Jen Piccolomini had a career-high 26 points to lift the host Green Terror (10-9, 6-4).
