East Columbia

McGaw Road: 8800 block, Owen Brown. A truck driver reported that he was robbed after making a delivery to Tri State Electric in Columbia Corporate Park on Friday. He told police he was hit on the back by a man who demanded money. The truck driver gave him his wallet, and the robber ran away.

West Columbia

Bright Rocket: 4000 block, Dorsey's Search. Ski equipment was stolen from the garage of a home Jan. 29.

Butler Court: 5300 block, Wilde Lake. Jewelry, money and electronic equipment were stolen from a home Saturday.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Town and Country Blvd.: 8900 block, Ellicott City. Richard C. Wilkins, 36, of no fixed address was charged Jan. 31 with burglary, theft and unauthorized use of a car after police said they caught a man breaking into an apartment. Detectives said the man was responsible for two burglaries at the same address Jan. 31. During the second incident, the victim confronted a man who had broken into the apartment through a sliding glass door. Police chased the man, who was driving a stolen Mitsubishi, and caught him on Longview Drive when he became stuck in snow and ice. Police found jewelry, credit cards and other property belonging to the victim in the car. The man was arrested without incident and taken to Howard County Detention Center, where he was being held on warrants in unrelated crimes in Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties.

Furnace Ave.: 5700 block, Elkridge. Two women reported to police that they were robbed Sunday outside the Furnace Inn. The women were sitting in their car waiting for it to warm up when two men, one armed with a handgun, walked up to a window and demanded money. One of the women handed him her purse, and the robber took money out and gave the purse back to her. Both men were last seen running on Furnace Avenue.

Rogers Ave.: 2800 block, Ellicott City. Television equipment, stereo and compact discs were stolen from a home between Jan. 20 and Saturday.


Nancy Drive: 7600 block, Jessup. Jewelry and three handguns were stolen from a home Thursday.
