Glen Burnie woman dies in head-on collision; Man, five teens hurt in accident in Pasadena

A 43-year-old Glen Burnie woman was killed and six other people were injured late Friday, when her car was struck head-on in Pasadena, Anne Arundel County police reported.

Darla Lee Rodey of the 1000 block of Olen Court was traveling west on Mountain Road at Outing Avenue about 11 p.m. with her 16-year-old daughter and four of her daughter's friends in a 1992 Nissan sedan. A 1996 GMC Suburban driven by Mhamed Bouadjemi, 46, of the 600 block of Powhatan Beach Road in Pasadena crossed the center line and struck Rodey's car before flipping over, police said.

Rodey died at the scene; the five teen-agers and Bouadjemi were taken to area hospitals, police said.

Taken to North Arundel Hospital were: Rodey's daughter, Erin Elizabeth Rodey of the 1100 block of Castle Harbour Way in Glen Burnie; Kerry Hohlbein, 14, of the 3000 block of Louisiana Ave. in Halethorpe; and Katie Hoffman, 14, of the 300 block of Grove Park Road in Baltimore. The three were treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Jessica Lynn Fonte, 16, of the 300 block of Tulip Oak Court in Linthicum and Heather Warner, 14, of the 400 block of Old Riverside Road in Brooklyn Park were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Both were in serious condition last night, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Bouadjemi was also taken to North Arundel, where he was treated and released, that hospital's spokeswoman said.
