Bomb note leads to arrest of two students

Two Arundel Senior High School sophomores have been arrested on juvenile charges and suspended after a note left in a restroom said a bomb was in the building.

The note was found Nov. 9, prompting an evacuation of the school and a search by bomb-sniffing dogs that failed to turn up an explosive device, authorities said yesterday.

County police said one of the students was suspected of writing the note, and the other of placing it in the restroom.

The students -- whose names were not divulged -- were arrested and charged with falsely reporting a bomb and disrupting school activities.

They were sent to the Cheltenham juvenile detention facility of Prince George's County pending a hearing, police said.
