Quest Fitness Center to open in Ellicott City
Quest Fitness will open a 20,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness center at 10045 Baltimore National Pike in January.
The company invested $1.4 million in the construction of the Ellicott City club and expects to create jobs for more than 60 people. A marketing campaign, offering discounts to encourage enrollment, began this month.
"Howard County is a sophisticated market that demands and deserves the type of facility that we will be opening," company President Bernie Caplan said.
The facility will offer nutritional counseling, massage therapy and sports medicine.
Quest also has fitness clubs in Lutherville and Abingdon.
Security Link leases facility for regional headquarters
Security Link, a subsidiary of Ameritech, has leased 20,000 square feet at 6301 Stevens Forest Road, Columbia. The security systems company will use the facility as its regional administrative headquarters.

The 39,000-square-foot single-story office building has 19,000 square feet still available to lease.
Robert E. Kendrick III has been appointed senior vice president and regional manager for the Citizens National Bank offices in Howard County and Burtonsville. For the past three years, he served as chief lending and credit officer for Sterling Bank & Trust Co., Baltimore, and credit officer for Bank of Maryland in Towson and Westminster. He has more than 30 years of experience in commercial banking, concentrating in commercial lending, business development, regional management and credit administration.
Mike Croxson has joined Amerix from Synovus Financial Corp./TSYS Inc., where he led the human resources team. He will manage human resources and help build the Academy of Service Excellence, which focuses on call-center training, and the Amerix Institute, which is responsible for professional development.
Leslie E. Berger has joined the investment management firm of Eichelberger, Greisser, Eddy and Alms Inc. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and a master's from the Johns Hopkins University. Berger will assist with asset management portfolio design.
