A fall celebration sponsored by the Harper's Choice Community Association, the Community Partnership and the village center will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the village center.
The Community Applefest will include storytelling, music, crafts and plants for sale.
The Harper's Choice Community Partnership, a residents' organization, will distribute information on its "Alert Neighbor Campaign" for safety, and Howard County police will offer free auto engraving.
Harper's Choice merchants will provide free pumpkins for children to decorate. Those who would like to make scarecrows should bring old clothes. Hay will be provided.
Also at the village center, Cedar Lane School will hold a fall plant sale, and the Harper's Choice Middle School Band and the Longfellow Elementary School's second-and third-grade choir will perform.
Swansfield Elementary to hold festival Saturday
Swansfield Elementary School will hold its Fall Festival beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday with coffee and doughnuts.
A flea market in the school's front parking lot, Moon Bounce, crafts, the Fire Department's fire safety house, face-painting and food are planned.
Session to focus on bills affecting condos, townhouses
The Wilde Lake Revitalization Committee will present a workshop, "Legislation, Priority Liens and Licenses," at 7: 30 p.m. Oct. 20 at Faulkner Ridge community center.
State Del. Elizabeth Bobo and attorney Julianne Dymowski will discuss Maryland legislation that affects condominiums and townhouses.
