The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police reports.
Dobbin Road: 6400 block. Two men entered Upton's about 8 p.m. Thursday, each walking to different registers and announcing a robbery. One man pointed a handgun at a clerk, and the other displayed a handgun in his waistband. After clerks emptied the registers, the men fled in a car that had been on the parking lot.
Old Dobbin Lane: 6100 block, Long Reach. A man approached a woman in a wheelchair tending a garden plot at 10: 30 a.m. Thursday and asked her for cash. As the woman reached for her money, the man grabbed it and $3,000 worth of jewelry -- a wedding ring, two other rings and her earrings. The man fled on foot.
Cradlerock Way: 7100 block, Owen Brown. A man walking in Owen Brown Village Center between 12: 30 p.m. and 1 p.m. Friday said two men approached him. One displayed a handgun and ordered the victim to walk down a footpath, where they robbed him of $800.
Owen Brown Road: 10200 block. Someone attempted to pry open a garage door between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday.
Ridermark Row: 11200 block, Harper's Choice. Someone entered a home through a garage between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday and stole a purse containing cash. The purse was found and an undisclosed amount of cash was missing.
Cedar Lane: 6500 block, Harper's Choice. Someone entered a home through an unlocked side door about 3 p.m. Oct. 5 and stole tools, a battery and a camera.
Columbia Road: 5600 block, Dorsey's Search. Someone entered a second-floor apartment about 3 p.m. Oct. 5 and stole a laptop computer.
Cedar Lane/Harper's Farm Road: A man said he was standing at the intersection about 9 p.m. Monday when three men approached him and asked him if he was selling "weed." After the man said no, the three men asked for a ride to Fenland Field Apartments, and the man agreed. At the apartment complex, the men told the driver to go to the back parking lot. There the man was attacked with a metal pipe and robbed of about $150, a cellular telephone, a pager, compact discs and a car stereo.
Little Patuxent Parkway: 10300 block, Town Center. Someone entered the Great American Cookie Co. at The Mall in Columbia between 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday, climbed over the counter and stole two cash drawers from the back.
Baltimore National Pike: 9000 block, Ellicott City. A man entered Crestar Bank about noon Thursday, waited in line for a teller, implied he had a weapon and told her to give him cash. The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, and the robber fled on foot.
Boulder Court: 3800 block, Ellicott City. A man entered an open garage and then the house through an unlocked interior door between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. Oct. 6 and stole a purse.
Washington Blvd: 6200 block, Elkridge. Four men knocked on a door at the Tip Top Motel Court about 2 a.m. Saturday. When a male occupant opened the door, the men rushed in, assaulted the two occupants and stole $20, a pager and a leather wallet.
Town & Country Blvd: 8600 block, Ellicott City. Someone entered an apartment at 9 p.m. Friday by prying a door open and stole a wallet containing $60.
Old Dragon Path: 4600 block, Ellicott City. Someone stole a bicycle valued at $250 from an open garage between 5: 45 p.m. and 6: 15 p.m. Saturday.
Good Harvest Court: 8900 block, Jessup. A man attempted to force his way into a home about 2 a.m. Friday through the front door. He was arrested and charged with breaking and entering.
Assateague Drive: 7400 block, Jessup. A man was leaving Truckers Inn at 1 a.m. Monday when a man approached him and demanded his money. The victim refused to comply, and the thief punched him in the face and fled. A suspect was arrested later.
Junction Drive: 9000 block, Annapolis Junction. Someone pried open a door at Petersen Aluminum between 1 p.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday. It was unclear whether anything was stolen.
Bourbon St.: 9100 block, North Laurel. An intruder broke into a woman's apartment through a bedroom window about 1 p.m. Thursday, displayed a knife and forced her into his car. The woman escaped, but the man grabbed her again, assaulted her and fled. The woman suffered minor injuries.
