Moms on the Move to hold 2 meetings


THE ELDERSBURG chapter of Moms on the Move will hold a meeting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today in the fellowship hall of Wesley-Freedom United Methodist Church, 916 Johnsville Road.

Bud Nason, a financial consultant, will speak on "Preparing Financially for Your Child's Education."

The group will hold its regular monthly meeting at 9 a.m. Oct. 20 at Wesley-Freedom. Dr. Cindy Voetz will speak on stress management for women.

Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings and may attend up to two meetings without becoming a member. Refreshments will be served at both meetings.

Spaghetti supper

Oakland United Methodist Church will hold its fall spaghetti supper from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday in the church hall at 5971 Mineral Hill Road.

The menu includes spaghetti, salad, Italian bread and beverage. Carry-outs and baked goods will be available.

The cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for children younger than 3. Proceeds benefit the church trustees.

Basket bingo

The Freedom Area Recreation Council will sponsor a basket bingo on Oct. 22 at Oklahoma Road Middle School.

Doors will open at 6 p.m and the games will begin at 7 p.m. Light fare will be available. Proceeds will benefit rec council programs.

Harvest party

If you're looking for an alternative to traditional Halloween activities, mark your calendar for Oct. 31, when St. Stephen's Reformed Episcopal Church will hold its annual Family Harvest Party from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to participate in games, activities and fellowship. The kids won't miss out on Halloween candy because there will be candy prizes, in addition to a bonfire and hayrides.

Costumes are optional, with animals or historical figures as suggested themes. Refreshments will be available. There is no admission charge. Information: 410-795-1249.
