Carroll County Farm Museum will have its annual Fall Harvest Days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday at 500 S. Center St. in Westminster. Scarecrow-making, a milk mustache contest, music, food, crafts, old-time artisans' demonstrations, wagon rides and a checkers tournament are a few of the activities available.
Mount Airy Festival on the Ridge closes downtown Main Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday for this annual celebration. Lots of children's activities are scheduled, with crafts, food, entertainment and contests -- spaghetti eating, hot dog eating, best-dressed pet and a bed race.
Scheduled entertainers include the South Carroll High School marching band, Harvest Bible Flag Team, Choe's Hapki Do Karate, Body & Soul Aerobics, Caballero's Band, Wild West Gang, Linganore Chorus, Bambini, Kids CORRAL, Faith Tabernacle puppet show, Zion Mountain Boys, American Standard Band, Skyview Gymnastics, Reisterstown Jazz Band and Davis Street Band.
Sykesville Business Association Inc. will sponsor its 26th annual Sykesville Fall Festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow. This single-day event starts with a breakfast at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church from 7: 30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Main Street will be closed and filled with crafts and food vendors, entertainers and a car show. Town Hall will be open for tours. A Civil War re-enactment will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Everybody's Quilt Guild will present Harvest of Quilts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the National Guard Armory on Hahn Road in Westminster.
Quilts will cover the walls, a vendors mall will offer quilts for sale, quilt demonstrations will be given and a certified quilt appraiser will give estimates of the value of antique quilts.
Boy Scout Troop 582 of New Windsor will hold a two-day flea market and raffle from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday at the New Windsor Firemen's Carnival Grounds on Atlee Avenue.
Vendors will offer crafts and yard sale-flea market items of all kinds and the Scouts will sell food and beverages.
The first Autumn Days Festival sponsored by Northwest Business Association will be held tomorrow and Sunday at Pipe Creek Park, on Old Taneytown Pike east of Taneytown. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $4 per car.
St. Benjamin's (Krider's) Lutheran Church women's group will hold a yard and bake sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at 700 Krider's Cemetery Road, Westminster.
Two high school marching band competitions occur tomorrow:
Westminster High School will hold a Tournament of Bands Competition at 5 p.m. tomorrow at the school, 1225 Washington Road. Twenty bands from Maryland and Pennsylvania will perform. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
Francis Scott Key High School Instrumental Music Boosters also will sponsor a Showcase of Bands marching and band competition from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the school on Bark Hill near Uniontown. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
