Fall Harvest Festival
Welcome the fall season this weekend at the Steppingstone Museum. Crafts, scarecrow-making, apple butter-making, pumpkin-painting, apple-bobbing, pony rides, hayrides, apple cider-pressing, storytelling, a petting zoo, live entertainment and plenty of food will highlight the Fall Harvest Festival and Craft Show in Havre de Grace. All museum buildings will be open for tours, as well.
The festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Steppingstone Museum, 461 Quaker Bottom Road in Havre de Grace. $5; free for ages 12 and under. Call 888-419-1762.
Brush up on the history of dental medicine and its importance to animals starting Saturday at the National Museum of Dentistry's latest exhibit, "Out of the Horse's Mouth: Animals Need Dentists Too!" See a collection of equine dental instruments, such as the dental chisel and the secateur tooth cutter, as well as dental casts of domestic and exotic animals, including the spider monkey, the timber wolf and the orangutan featured in the movie "Any Which Way But Loose." The exhibit runs through Feb. 27.
The exhibit opens Saturday in the Saccente Gallery of the Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry, 31 S. Greene St. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $4.50; $2.50 ages 7 to 18 and seniors; free for ages 6 and under.
