A 30-year-old Columbia man was stabbed in the shoulder as he was fleeing from a robber near Long Reach Village Center on Saturday, Howard County police said.
Edward Williams of the 5700 block of Stevens Forest Road, told police a man in a hooded top demanded money at 2: 50 a.m.
Williams was leaving the village center Exxon station and ran from the assailant. He was stabbed as he was running, and a passing motorist drove him to Howard County General Hospital. The assailant fled. Williams had surgery to stop the bleeding. Police are investigating.
