Repairs to disrupt light rail service north of North Ave.
Central light rail service between North Avenue and Hunt Valley Mall will be disrupted today and tomorrow as maintenance crews continue to clear trees and repair overhead wires in the Falls Road and Mount Washington neighborhoods bordering the line.
Regular service will remain in effect between North Avenue and Cromwell Station in Glen Burnie.

Home ownership workshop to offer purchase counseling
The Garwyn Oaks Housing Resource Center and the Baltimore Community Development Financing Corp. have scheduled a home ownership workshop from 10 a.m. to noon tomorrow on the lower level of the center, 2610 Garrison Blvd.
Counseling on buying a home will be available from professionals in housing, real estate and mortgage financing. The free workshop also will let potential buyers know about purchasing and renovating a home through the vacant house loan program.

Hydes park redevelopment to be discussed Sept. 30
HYDES -- A second community meeting will be held to discuss plans for the redevelopment of the Hydes Road Park at 7 p.m. Sept. 30, in the Carroll Manor Elementary School, 4434 Carroll Manor Road.
Residents in the Long Green Valley have long worried about development on the site on Hydes Road just east of the community post office.
They opposed plans several years ago to build a middle school on the property and more recently expressed fears that a proposed concession stand on the property would lead to more intense development of the site now used only for daytime ballgames.
Milford Mill Academy to mark 50th anniversary
MILFORD -- Milford Mill Academy will celebrate its 50th anniversary with an alumni reunion and performances by the high school's band, chorus and military drill team from 3 p.m. to 6 p. Sept. 26.
Alumni who graduated in 1952, 1953, 1954 and 1955 will present a banner to current students and administrators at the event. Exhibits will be on display recounting the high school's history.
Agency marks anniversary by dedicating walk
TOWSON -- The county Department of Recreation and Parks will celebrate its 50th anniversary at 10: 30 a.m. Oct. 2 by dedicating a "Pioneer Walk" at Towson Manor Park on Towsontowne Boulevard.
The walk is made with bricks purchased by recreation volunteers and staff and includes a granite monument with a series of bronze plaques.
