Two Baltimore men were arrested and charged in the robbery of the Allfirst Financial bank in Glen Burnie yesterday, Anne Arundel County police said.
Robert Thompson Austin, 49, of the 5000 block of Pembridge Ave. and Wallace Edward Mazon, 53, of the 2000 block of W. North Ave. were charged with bank robbery.
After checking their criminal records, county police found bench warrants for both men.
Officer Carol Frye said they had failed to appear in a Baltimore court.
She would not say what other charges are pending against the men.
No weapons were involved in the robbery. Instead, two men implied in a threatening note that they had a weapon, according to county police.
The note asked the teller to put the currency in a plastic bag, police said.
The two men fled in a blue Dodge Spirit, which was found minutes later by county police. A plastic bag containing money and the note used in the robbery were found in the automobile. No weapons were found.
The FBI is interviewing Mazon and Austin in connection with other bank robberies in the region.
