Frozen price of Ravens tickets 6 percent below league average

The average price of a Ravens ticket in Baltimore will be 6 percent below the NFL average this season.

The team's ticket prices average $42.75, not including "premium" seats in the skyboxes or club seat areas. The NFL's average is $45.63 this season, according to an annual review by Team Marketing Report of Chicago.

When they announced three years ago ticket prices for the new stadium, Ravens officials promised no price increases until 2001. Club seat customers have already been notified that their annual bills will go up by as much as 50 percent by 2003.

Meanwhile, other NFL teams have passed by the Ravens with price hikes. The NFL average went up by nearly 7 percent this year.

Setting the standard again this season is the Washington Redskins. That team has the costliest tickets, averaging $74.28, the same as last year. The cheapest games to attend are those of the St. Louis Rams, at $33.99.
