AS SUMMER winds down, local community groups, churches and organizations are filling their fall calendars with events.
Community United Methodist Church, 8680 Fort Smallwood Road, will sponsor a crafts fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow on the church grounds.
The Pasadena Sportfishing Group will meet at 7: 30 p.m. Monday at the Orchard Beach Fire Hall, 7549 Solley Road.
Sonney Forrest of Fin Finders Charters will share tips and techniques for catching migrating striped bass, trout and flounder.

The Pasadena Business Association is planning its fourth annual Thanksgiving parade and community food harvest at 2 p.m. Nov. 7. The parade will celebrate thankfulness, and share the bounty.
Local businesses, civic groups, community associations, schools, churches, bands, car clubs, youth sports groups, cheerleaders and fire companies have participated in the two-mile parade route over the past three years, and have helped collect thousands of pounds of food.

The Pasadena Homeschoolers group offers field trips, parties, help with learning incentives, and group interaction.
The first session of the new school year will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church, 17 Somerset Road, in Sunset Beach.
Parents will plan activities. Crafts, games and snacks will be available. Parents are encouraged to bring books or curricula they want to sell or trade.
Membership is free, but parents are expected to take turns providing snacks and crafts, and to help arrange field trips.

Gibson Island Country School will be sponsoring a "What's Next Night?" for families of its fourth- and fifth-grade pupils at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 in the Mountain Road library branch meeting room, 4370 Mountain Road.
Admissions directors from several private schools, as well as Chesapeake Bay Middle School, will share admissions information and brochures.
Candidates for middle and high school programs and their families are welcome.
