Bryn Mawr Mawrtians (15-1-5)
Coach: Jeanette Budzik
Outlook: The Mawrtians lost some of their scoring punch with the graduation of three seniors, but they return an excellent defense anchored by goalie Katie Coyne, who allowed only four goals last season. With returning links Jen Ahn and Carey Fetting-Smith, the Mawrtians also have one of the area's best midfields.
Friends Quakers (15-4-2)
Coach: Carol Samuels
Outlook: The Quakers graduated the key components in their hard-hitting, long-ball game, so they will rely more on the short-passing approach. The defense is young, but goalie Liz Yeager and back Suzie Peterson are among 10 Quakers veterans, including Katie Rouse, who returns to the line.
Roland Park Reds (20-0-2)
Coach: Debbie Bloodsworth
Outlook: The Reds face a rebuilding year, returning only six players. But don't look for them to lose too much ground on the competition. Bloodsworth brings plenty of talent up from the JV and returns forward Allison Higgins, defenders Kelsey Twist and Alex Thomas and midfielder Meghan McInnes.
Seton Keough Gators (5-10)
Coach: Debbi Pearson
Outlook: For a second straight year, the Gators must contend with a large turnover. Midfielder Becky Clark and defender Emily Dashiell are the top veterans on a young team that, nevertheless, shows scoring potential. Pub Date: 9/02/99
