Last year: Brandel Chamblee won when the event was called the Greater Vancouver Open, finishing with a 19-under 265 for a three-stroke victory over Payne Stewart.
Last week: Tiger Woods won the World Golf Championships NEC Invitational in Akron, Ohio, by one stroke over Phil Mickelson. Notah Begay III won the Reno-Tahoe Open in Reno, Nev., by three strokes over Chris Perry for his first PGA Tour victory.
Notes: This is the first year the tournament will not be competing against another event. The tournament is in its third year. All three past champions are in the field. Chamblee's best finish this season is a tie for fifth at the Bay Hill Invitational. Woods leads the tour in victories with five and the earnings list with $4.3 million.

Last year: Pearl Sinn won her first tour title. She closed with a 7-under 65 for a 16-under 200. Michele Redman finished second, one stroke back.
Last week: Dottie Pepper beat Kelli Kuehne by two strokes to win the Oldsmobile Classic in East Lansing, Mich.
Notes: Betsy King has won the tournament three times since its inception in 1976. The tournament ends on Labor Day. Julie Inkster is playing in Springfield for the first time in more than 15 years. Nancy Lopez is seeking her 50th career LPGA Tour victory.
Senior PGA Tour
TD Waterhouse Championship
Site: Kansas City, Mo.
Course: Tiffany Greens Country Club (6,830 yards, par 72).
Purse: $1.2 million (winner's share: $180,000).
TV: ESPN (Tomorrow, 1-3 p.m.; Saturday, 4-5: 30 p.m.; Sunday, 5: 30-7 p.m.)
Last year: Larry Ziegler won when the event was called the St. Luke's Classic, finishing with a par-72 for a one-stroke victory over Tom Shaw.
Last week: Jim Ahern defeated Hale Irwin on the second hole of a playoff to win the Canada Senior Open in Montreal.
Notes: Ziegler's win last year was six years, 10 months and three days after his first tour win, a record for the Senior PGA Tour. The tournament is being played at Tiffany Greens Country Club for the first time. It was previously held at Loch Lloyd Country Club.
