Outlook: It would be easy to pencil this game in as a win for Maryland, but it has been only been two years since Ohio University pulled off a 21-14 victory over the Terps in their season opener at Byrd Stadium. Also, this young Temple team from the Big East regrouped after an 0-6 start last season to shoot down 10th-ranked Virginia Tech, 28-24, on the road and came back two games later to knock off Pittsburgh, 34-33, on the road. Those two Big East wins were the only games the 2-9 Owls won last season. However, the quarterback (sophomore Devin Scott) who engineered the big upset over Virginia Tech will start tonight, and his backup is sophomore Mac DeVito, who beat Pittsburgh. DeVito was subbing for an injured Scott in the Pittsburgh game. And there is the presence of coach Bobby Wallace on the sidelines for Temple. Wallace is entering his second season at Temple after guiding North Alabama to three national Division II championships.
