Students can register at city schools today

The Baltimore school district is opening 26 schools from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today for parents to register their children before school begins Monday.

Parents who have not registered their children in the city school system should bring two proofs of residency, such as rent receipts or copies of utility bills; their child's Social Security card; and a copy of the child's birth certificate and immunization record.

Elementary schools (along with their middle-school counterparts) that are open today are: Hilton, Edgewood, Elmer Henderson, Guilford, Violetville, Graceland Park-O'Donnell Heights, Callaway, Frederick, Dallas F. Nicholas Sr., Thomas G. Hayes, Johnston Square, Matthew A. Henderson, Lakeland, Francis Scott Key, Bay-Brook, Carter G. Woodson, Gardenville, Garrett Heights, Edgecombe Circle and Montebello.

Other schools open today are Frankford Intermediate, Hamilton Middle (#41), Garrison Middle, Northeast Middle, Patterson High and Southern High.
