Baltimore City

Southeastern District

Assault/arrest: A woman was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with assault. A man, 24, was talking to her at the home they share in the 1200 block of Broening Highway about 1 p.m. when she allegedly pointed a handgun at him. He was not injured and the handgun was recovered. Barbara Gordon, 43, was charged.

Southwestern District

Theft/arrest: A woman tried to leave the Super Fresh store at Westside Shopping Center in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. without paying for food Monday and was detained by a security officer. She was charged with shoplifting.

Eastern District

Theft: An employee of Saval Foods in the 4600 block of Pulaski Highway told police he was in an office counting the day's receipts about 3 p.m. Monday when he was called away. He placed $600 under papers on his desk, was gone for a short time and when he returned, the money was missing.

Robbery: A man armed with an unknown caliber rifle entered the New York Fried Chicken restaurant in the 1200 block of E. North Ave. about 1: 30 a.m. Sunday and announced a robbery. Police said the employees did not understand English and hesitated until he pointed the rifle at them. He took more than $100.

Burglary: A videocassette recorder and a combination stereo compact disc player/cassette player, all valued at more than $500, were stolen from a first-floor room in a house in the 700 block of Montford Ave. between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday.

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed Custom Aquarium & Tropicals in the 2600 block of E. Monument St. of more than $300 about 5 p.m. Monday. Police said the pair escaped on bicycles.

Burglary: Police were seeking a woman, 55, who entered a house in the 1600 block of Norwood Ave. on Monday and stole a set of drinking glasses and a purse containing money and personal papers.

Baltimore County

Garrison Precinct

Robbery: After entering Valley Gourmet, a store in the 12100 block of Park Heights Ave. about 8: 20 a.m. Monday, a man placed a soft drink on the counter as if to purchase it. When the clerk, a woman, 50, opened the cash register, he pulled a handgun and ordered her to give him money. As he was leaving with more than $100 and the soft drink, he cocked the handgun and the clerk fainted. No arrest had been made.

North Point Precinct

Robbery: A man armed with a knife robbed the 7-Eleven store in the 7200 block of E. Baltimore St. of an undisclosed sum of money about 2 a.m. yesterday.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary: One hundred cartons of cigarettes valued at $2,700 were stolen from the High's store in the 7400 block of Belair Road about 1 a.m. Monday.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, entered the High's store in the 8400 block of Oakleigh Road about 6 a.m. Monday. The unarmed man stood guard at the door while the gunman took several cartons of cigarettes, all of unknown value, from a display.
