Intruder kills boy, stabs mother in their home

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A woman was in serious condition yesterday with stab wounds she suffered during an attack Friday when a male teen-ager barged into her Northeast Baltimore home and fatally stabbed her 13-year-old son, police said.

Detective Vernon Parker said Dorothy Williams, 36, of the 3600 block of Kenyon Ave. answered a knock at her door about 9: 55 p.m. and was immediately stabbed several times by a masked youth.

Leaving her bleeding and crying for help, the assailant went into the living room and stabbed William Acheanpong several times in the upper body and fled, Parker said.

Williams and her son were taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where the boy died about 30 minutes after the attack, Parker said.

Parker said information gathered in the investigation indicated that Acheanpong had an earlier dispute with an unidentified youth, which might have led to the attack.

No arrest had been made.

Parker urged anyone with information about the incident to call him at 410-396-2100.
