Hospice of the Chesapeake'sboard of directors recently installed officers at its annual meeting: Chairwoman, Martha O'Herlihy; vice chairman, Joe Brennan; secretary, M. Pat Farrell; and treasurer, John P. Rhody. O'Herlihy, Farrell and Rhody are longtime board members. Brennan recently retired as senior director for regional procurement at Marriott Corp.

Marc F. Brassard,an orthopedic surgeon with an interest in joint replacement and sports medicine, has joined the staff of Anne Arundel Medical Center. Brassard is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts medical school. He completed a fellowship in total joint replacement and sports medicine at the Insall Scott Kelly Institute for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.

Leadership Anne Arundel'sboard of directors recently elected John W. Marhefka Jr. of St. Margarets as president. Marhefka joined the LAA board after graduating with the 1993-94 Leadership Anne Arundel class is board's senior member.

Joyce Phillipshas been named Anne Arundel Medical center's vice president for human resources. Phillips, who holds two master's degrees in liberal arts from St. John's College, has been a member of AAMC's human resources department since 1987.

Homes for America,an Annapolis-based nonprofit housing development corporation, was honored recently as Nonprofit Housing Developer of the Year by the Virginia-based Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers. Noted in the award was HFA's rehabilitation and preservation of lower-income housing in Alexandria, Va.

Anne Arundel Medical Centerhas named Paul Weinbaum director of women's and children's services in Annapolis. Weinbaum specializes in the management of high-risk pregnancies. He was a faculty member at the University of Connecticut Health Science Center and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
