Search to resume for man lost when boat sank

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A search will resume today for a 41-year-old man who disappeared when a small boat sank yesterday in the Patapsco River near the Francis Scott Key Bridge, Coast Guard officials said.

The search for Harold C. Howell of Baltimore was called off for the night about 9 p.m., officials said. Four others were rescued about 5: 45 p.m., shortly after a distress call was transmitted.

The man's life jacket, which he was wearing at the time of the accident, was recovered, said Jeff S. Brown, a Coast Guard spokesman.
