Marlins: Alberto Castillo's two steals gave him 16 in a row, breaking the team single-season record of 15 set by Chuck Carr in 1994. Castillo has stolen 15 bases since the All-Star break after getting 17 through the season's first half. Shortstop Alex Gonzalez was a last-minute scratch with stiffness in his left knee.

Mets: Robin Ventura extended his hitting streak to 10 games. He has seven homers and 14 RBIs in that span.
