A two-alarm fire ruined two bedrooms of a house yesterday afternoon just outside Taneytown, requiring a family that was away at the time to find shelter, according to the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company.
The office of the state fire marshal was bringing in a dog last night to look for a cause of the blaze, officials said.
The fire at the single-family home in the 4300 block of Stumptown Road was reported shortly after 1 p.m.
It was under control by 1: 35 p.m.
Firefighters from companies in Harney, Pleasant Valley and Union Bridge also responded to the blaze.
