Former Baltimore Colts quarterback John Unitas, who checked into University of Maryland Medical Center for a battery of heart tests Monday after complaining of chest pains, got a clean bill of health from the doctors and will return home today.

"He's in very good condition," said Joan Shnipper, the director of communication and public affairs at the hospital.

Unitas' son, Joe, said Unitas, 66, wasn't feeling quite right after coming home from a vacation and decided to get a checkup. He said only members of his immediate family even knew he was getting the tests.

"The best thing to do is get it checked out, but there's nothing wrong," he said. "They ran a whole bunch of tests and everything came back negative. His heart is fine."
