Bring a lawn chair to Annapolis' City Dock tonight if you're into folk music, concerts by the water or duck-decoy poetry.

The "historic" summer concert series at City Dock opens with a 7: 30 p.m. performance by Chesapeake Scenes, a folk trio from the Eastern Shore.

The musicians -- Tom McHugh of Rock Hall on banjo and blues harp, Tom Anthony of Pamona on upright bass and Bill Mathews of Easton on guitar -- perform original tunes about the Chesapeake Bay. Their songs include McHugh's "Chester River Song" and "Sharptown Blues," plus "I'm Just an Old Decoy Duck," a musical arrangement of a poem by one of the Ward brothers, the famed decoy carvers from near Crisfield. The band also performs "Dredgin' is My Drudgery," by folk artist Tom Wisner.

The concert series is sponsored by Celebrate 350 Annapolis & Anne Arundel County. All performances are on Wednesdays, last an hour and begin at 7: 30 p.m. at Susan Campbell Park at City Dock. They are free.

July 28: Classical ensemble from the Heifetz Institute.

Aug. 4: Esther Haynes and the Back Road Band, West Coast swing.

Aug. 11: That West River Band, blues.

Aug. 18: Sweet Adelines and the Sons of the Severn, women's and men's barbershop choirs.
