THE BALTIMORE SUN

A 28-year-old Westminster man allegedly used stolen checks to buy several pizzas and to cash several hundred dollars in May and June, Westminster police said yesterday.

Michael Thomas Skipper, whose address was listed as the cold-weather shelter in the 200 block of Stoner Ave., was charged with 50 counts of theft, forgery, uttering and a theft scheme from May 21 to June 20 that totaled $1,924, according to police. Bail was set at $10,000.

Police said the checks were stolen in January from a Westminster man.

Eleven checks, ranging from $15 to $29, were spent at the Domino's Pizza in the 140 Village Shopping Center in Westminster, according to the charges. Five checks made out to the suspect ranged from $290 to $375, police said.

Penalties range from 18 months imprisonment for theft under $300, to 15 years in prison for a theft scheme, and fines from $500 to $1,000.
