"My favorite book is 'Karen's Witch' by Ann Martin. I like this book because it's scary. Karen thinks her neighbor is a witch, because Morbidda Destiny wears witchy clothes and she has funny hair. The funniest part of the story is when Karen found out that Morbidda was not a witch at all. This book is a real fun book to read and also is scary. A good book to read for Halloween."

"Have you ever been outsmarted by your little sister? In 'Beezus & Ramona' by Beverly Cleary, you will see how 4-year-old Ramona outsmarts her sister, 9-year-old Beezus. This is the funniest book I ever read. Ramona tries to annoy Beezus every way she can. My favorite part was when Ramona ate one bite from every apple in the house."

"If you are looking for a spine-tingling ghost mystery, this is definitely the book! Virginia Hamilton won the Edgar award for writing this book, 'House of Dies Drear.' It is mainly about a city family moving into an old creepy house from right back in the 1860s. The ghost is supposed to be a man who lived there before them, a captain on a Civil War slave ship."
