Carroll man held in isolation on child-sex charges

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A Hampstead man accused of e-mailing child pornography to a New Jersey girl, 11, and sexually assaulting a neighborhood girl, 8, is being held in an isolation unit at the county jail in lieu of $55,000 bail.

Calvin Gary Horelick, 47, of the 4800 block of Hillock Lane may post 10 percent, or $5,500, and be released while awaiting trial.

Horelick, who was arrested Saturday, was placed in isolation for his protection, a jail official said.

According to court documents, Horelick is charged with nine counts of distributing child pornography, possession of child pornography and using a computer to distribute child pornography.

In the second case, which came to light Friday after a Hampstead mother took her daughter to the town's police station, Horelick is charged with second-, third- and fourth-degree sexual offenses and second-degree assault.
