Gov. Parris N. Glendening has appointed Joshua C. Noland of Annapolis to a one-year term as the student member of the Anne Arundel Community College board of trustees, effective Thursday.

Noland is studying public relations, advertising and media. His interest in government and education prompted his candidacy for a board seat.

After earning an associate of arts degree, he plans to enter a bachelor's degree program at Towson University in mass media or political science.
