Yankees update

No, they're not the same juggernaut as last year, but the Yankees still have the fourth-best record in baseball and a hold on first place in the AL East. They also are 14-4 against division opponents. Their 4.20 ERA ranks second in the league and contributes to a 40-10 record when scoring at least four runs. Shortstop Derek Jeter had reached safely in 69 of 70 games. He has batted third in seven straight games for the first time in his career. He is 10-for-25 (.400) with six RBIs and nine runs since being dropped in the order. Bernie Williams is 15-for-27 (.556) with three homers, five RBIs and 11 runs since being moved up to second. Hernandez shut out Tampa Bay on three hits Tuesday. The Yankees won nine of 12 games against the Orioles last season, though they split six at Camden Yards.
