"I like 'The Ugly Duckling,' written by Hans Christian Andersen and made up from his life. My favorite part is when the duckling says to the three swans, 'Kill me. I would rather be dead then be beat by everybody.' Then he turned into a beautiful swan."

"I enjoy reading 'Arthur's New Puppy' by Marc Brown. In the story Arthur loved his new puppy, Pal. Pal stayed in the kitchen because he didn't like the garage. The first night, Pal yelped all night and wanted to play. The next morning, the family discovered Pal had made a big mess. Arthur and D.W. tried to train Pal so their parents wouldn't send him away or make him live in the garage."
