Baltimore resident fatally shot at home

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Two men -- one with a handgun -- entered a house in Northwest Baltimore early yesterday and fatally shot a male resident, police said.

Detective Ronald Copeland said James Harley, 43, was on the second floor of his home in the 2900 block of Rockrose Ave. when two men entered about 7: 30 a.m. and one shot him several times in the upper body.

Harley was found in a hallway by a resident who called police. Copeland said Harley died about 30 minutes later at Sinai Hospital.

Minutes after the shooting, a patrolman spotted a car occupied by two men speeding from the scene, stopped the vehicle and detained the driver and passenger.

Police said Karon Khyann Ware, 20, of the 2800 block of Violet Ave. and Lamont Henderson, 22, of the 3500 block of Reisterstown Road were charged with first-degree murder last night and were being held without bail at the Central Booking and Intake Center.
