Braves update

Supposedly, the Braves are vulnerable this year. Maddux and Tom Glavine have been transformed from Cy Young winners to pinatas, Ryan Klesko proved a disaster at first base and shortstop Walt Weiss is hurt, leaving the position to Orioles reject Ozzie Guillen. So why are the Braves riding a five-game win streak with the National League's best record (37-22)? The bullpen has conformed around left-handed closer John Rocker and right-handed set-up man Rudy Seanez (4-0, 1.95). Foes are outhitting the Braves but have been outscored by 70 runs. Brian Jordan has slumped recently but remains among the league leaders with 53 RBIs. Catcher Javy Lopez has hit in 24 of his last 30 games. Maddux has won only one of seven starts since April 29. Smoltz has been the Braves' most dominant starter. Smoltz is also batting .400 with six RBIs, twice as many as Guillen. The last time these teams met at Turner Field, the Orioles swept an epic three-game series June 13-15, 1997. They're 154-163 since.
