More 'Queer Cafe'

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The third annual installment of "Queer Cafe," PussyCat Theatre Company's anthology of short gay and lesbian plays, opens at the Theatre Project tonight. This year's lineup features four world premieres, linked together by a sideshow motif and the music of singer Julia P. Farrell.

The plays are: "Too Much of Me," by James Magruder, resident dramaturg at Center Stage, about an evangelistic mother who pays an unexpected visit to her son and his lover; "Always the Bridesmaid," by PS Lorio, a comic account of pre-wedding rituals; "Ten Memories of My Mother in the Order That I Think of Them," by Charles Derry, a son's recollections of his mother; and "The Jewish Nun," by Madeleine Olnek, about a woman's struggles to find balance in her Judeo-Catholic background. All four plays will be directed by PussyCat artistic director Susan Lev.

Show times at the Theatre Project, 45 W. Preston St., are 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, through June 26. Tickets are $14. Call 410-752-8558.
