The second STX Lacrosse Championship weekend, to be held Saturday and Sunday in Brooklandville, will combine lacrosse events for children, families and adults of varying skill levels.

Six thousand spectators are expected to watch games played by more than 500 players on three fields, said chairman Jimmy Hense.

"Kids can play a game in the morning and then watch the best in the world play," he said.

Gary Gait, a five-time indoor league most valuable player, and Tom Marechek, four-time first-team all-pro, will sign autographs and hold a shooting competition at 11: 30 a.m. Saturday.

The events will be held at Maryvale Prep, 11300 Falls Road. Auxiliary parking will be at St. Paul's School. Admission each day is $2 (under 12 free).
