'Our Town' comes to town

Cockpit in Court, the summer theater in residence at Essex Community College, opens its 1999 season tomorrow with Thornton Wilder's 1938 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, "Our Town." Directed by Nancy Powichroski, the depiction of small-town American life stars Rebecca Vourvoulas and Jonathan Flom as young lovers Emily and George.

Here's the rest of the Cockpit season -- June 18-27: "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" (Mainstage Theatre) and "Sugar Babies" (Upstairs Cabaret Theatre); July 8-18: "Cinderella" (Court Jesters Young People's Theatre); July 23-Aug. 1: "Big, the Musical" (Mainstage) and "Three Tall Women" (Upstairs Cabaret).

Show times for "Our Town" at Cockpit, 7201 Rossville Blvd., are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 7 p.m. Sundays, through June 13. Tickets are $8. Call 410-780-6369.
