Baltimore City

Western District

Arrest: A man was arrested Monday on a warrant charging him in the attempted murder and robbery of a deliveryman for The Sun on May 13. Detectives Alan Savage and Donald Grant said Mohammed Ghrieb, 34, was slashed in the face with a carton cutter and robbed of an undisclosed sum by a man he allowed to help him deliver papers near Mondawmin Mall. Monday, Savage and Grant arrested Andre Curry, 38, at his home in the 2300 block of Windsor Ave. Curry is being held without bail at the Central Booking and Intake Center.

Central District

Pickpocket: A man, 59, left CVS Pharmacy in the first block of Light St. on Monday and bumped into another man. Minutes later, he discovered his wallet containing more than $300 was missing.

Burglary/arrests: Two men seen breaking into a vacant house in the 1500 block of Argyle Ave. Monday were arrested by police. Charged with burglary and processed at the Central Booking and Intake Center were Sherman Brown, 33, of the 400 block of E. 27th St. and Darnell Walker, 28, of the 1200 block of Woodyear St.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Robbery: A man who implied he was armed with a handgun robbed High's Dairy Store in the 6300 block of Kenwood Ave. of more than $200 about 1: 15 p.m. Monday.

North Point Precinct

Theft from vehicle: A cassette player, cassette deck changer and an equalizer, all valued at nearly $1,000, were stolen Monday from a 1997 Dodge Neon parked in the 4300 block of North Point Blvd.

Theft: A power washer machine, valued at nearly $3,000, was stolen Monday from a commercial building in the 7000 block of Quad Ave.

For the record

Arrest: Bobby James Brown, 25, of the 1700 block of Darley Ave. was arrested Monday on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder in the shooting of Douglas Pennix, 25, of the first block of N. Broadway on Jan. 23 as the victim sat on the steps of a house in the 1900 block of Etting St. Police said a drug dispute was the motive. Brown surrendered at the Central Booking and Intake Center and was being held without bail.
