Howard High is awarded Sportsmanship Cup

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Howard High School has won the county's Sportsmanship Cup award in recognition of the sportsmanship displayed by its players, coaches, parents and spectators during the school's athletic events this year.

The cup will be presented to Howard by Don Disney, county athletics coordinator, at 4 p.m. tomorrow at the county school board meeting.

"We're extremely proud to receive this prestigious award, and it's a credit to the Howard High School community, especially the fans, athletes and coaches," said Howard principal Mary Day.

Atholton earned the Sportsmanship Cup award the last three years. Glenelg won in 1994-95, the first year the award was presented. School principals and athletic directors vote three times a year (fall, winter and spring) to determine the winner.
