Sykesville swore in four council members Monday and named Eugene E. Johnson president.

Johnson, who is serving a third term on the six-member panel, has been its president for several years. He was not up for re-election May 4.

The town turned out in record numbers May 4 and re-elected incumbents Michael Burgoyne, William Hall and Jeannie Nichols. Charlie Mullins, a former councilman, won the fourth seat.
